Upper Mustang Trek

Mustang, formerly Kingdom of Lo, is a remote and isolated region of the Nepalese Himalayas. The Upper Mustang was a restricted demilitarized area until 1992.[quote align="center"]-

  • The ancient and mysterious Kingdom of Lo, as it is known to its inhabitants, is now open to a limited number of visitors. where we have been helping to establish Environmental Association in conjunction with the King and Royal Family, to preserve the area’s unique and fragile environment. We fly in and out of Jomsom to avoid the long approach march, and trek up the west side of the valley, with spectacular views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and the Annapurna massif from the pass at 13 000ft. After visiting Tserang, the second city of Mustang. We continue on through dramatic desert scenery of red and ochre fluted cliffs, to the fabled mediaeval walled city of Lo Manthang. We spend the next few days visiting the outlying temples and villages using Lo Manthang as a base.

  • Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu Int’l airport- transfer to Hotel, trek briefing
    Day 02: Trekking permit procedure-check the trekking gears, afternoon flight to Pokhara
    Day 03: Morning flight to Jomsom 2720m. Trek to Kagbeni 2800m
    Day 04: Kagbeni- Chuksang 2980m – enter restricted area
    Day 05: Chuksang – Samar 3620m
    Day 06: Samar – Ghami 3510m crossing 3950m pass
    Day 07: Ghami – Tserang 3560m via Ghar Gompa
    Day 08: Tserang – Lo-Mangthang 3840m
    Day 09: Lo-Manthang – Explore to Chosar Chonup
    Day 10: Lo-Manthang – Explore to Tinger
    Day 11: Trek back to Gami via Tsarang
    Day 12: Gami   –  Chusang
    Day 13: Kagbeni – Jomsom
    Day 14: Jomsom – Kathmandu via Pokhara by flight
    Day 15: Free day in Kathmandu or sightseeing or shopping souvenir.
    Day 16: Fly back to home
