A trek to the Mardi Himal takes you into one of the most untouched areas of the Himalayas. There are few villages as the majority of this trek is in wilderness that culminates with spectacular close up views of Machhapuchare – the ‘Fishtail Mountain’.
The climb is on boulders, scree and snow, all of which present little difficulty. The summit can be attained in a few hours from the top camp, and the views (when it is clear) are simply amazing. The location of the mountain, just outside the entrance to the Sanctuary, means that we can see into the famous cirque of mountains whilst still being able to see mountains like Dhaulagiri to the west and Manaslu to the east. After the climb, we descend to the idyllic lakeside town of Pokhara
