Trek Overview

This trek follows a historic trade route towards Thak Khola / upper Mustang as far as Ghorepani (poonhill). Here, at 2900m, is a spectacular panoramic view of the Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna II, South II, Nilgiri, Tukchey, Dhampus peak, butterfly mountain & Himchuli Himals(Whole mountain range of Annapurna region). Descending on a narrow trail through rhododendron forests to Ghandrung, a large and picturesque Gurung village, the route continues back to Pokhara on a ridge that offers frequent views of Machhapuchhare, the “Fishtail” peak. This trek is of special interest to bird and nature lovers because much of the walking is through forests abounding in bird life.

Pokhara is connected to Kathmandu by a 200 Km. long road. Depending on your schedule and budget, you have the option of taking a 35 minutes flight to Pokhara or taking a 7hrs trip by tourist bus to Pokhara.

Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport 1350m. -transfer to hotel, pre-briefing about the trek
  • Day 02: Sightseeing around KTM valley major places with tour guide
  • Day 03: Early morning fly to Pokhara- 25minutes flight. Explore Pokhara & boating on Fewa lake
  • Day 04: Pokhara- Drive to New bridge 1070m by van drive, start trek to Ulleri 1960m
  • Day 05: Ulleri-Ghorepani 2860m
  • Day 06: Ghorepani – Tadapani 2630m- After Poonhill 3210m sunrise trip / Mountain View
  • Day 07: Tadapani – Landrung 1920m
  • Day 08: Dhampus via Austrian Camp
  • Day 09: Dhampus to Pokhara – Kathmandu fly by evening flight
  • Day 10: Free day in Kathmandu, farewell dinner
  • Day 11: Fly back to home
